Rip Griffin

by Nick Coons

Sometimes it seems that the life of a trucker would be great. Nice and relaxed, on the open road, making random stops for food and sleep. Never actually having been a trucker myself, I can only imagine what this is like. But I can indulge my imagination at Rip Griffin's, a restaurant, among other facilities, that are very accommodating to truck-drivers.

When we first walked in, it seemed that only truck-drivers were allowed. Then we noticed the sign was indicating that a special area was designated for truck-drivers. In addition, this occupational-specific area of the restaurant coincidentally happened to be right next to the buffet with quite a variety of salad toppings and "home-cooked" goodies.

The pricing was very fair, as was the food. Not something to go out of my way for, but a very nice place to visit on occasion when I feel like playing another role.

Rip Griffin's is located at 1010 N. 339th Ave. in Tonopah.
