Vito's Pizza Place

A friend of mine has been raving about Vito's for several years now. He stops by every so often and picks up a pizza to share with the family. Never having been there, I had originally pictured Vito's as "some pizza joint." When I finally drove by and noticed a much more exquisite atmosphere, I decided that this was tonight's place for dinner.

Monsoons and Wildfire and Heat, Oh My!

It's that time of year again -- Monsoons and wildfire. Humidity abounds, frizzing the hair I've worked so hard to get just right. There's something really sad about this time of year, and then again, something that is so wonderful. Destruction and reconstruction is the theme. Wildfires seem to get worse each year, taking down acres and acres of our beautiful forests. Whether man or Mother Nature started these fires, there is always a resounding feeling of sadness when the news reports yet another one. Almost like a feeling of mourning.

Several years ago, the priest began dancing in front of his congregation during his sermons. Curious of this, one of the members asked how this came about.

"Well," said the priest, "it's hard to keep an Arizona congregation interested. In the winter, the weather is so nice that they have no interest in heaven. In the summer, it's so hot that they have no fear of hell."
