Ok............. I'm a Systems Engineer with 8 years of help desk experience. I'm an MCP in Windows 2000 and currently am seeking my MCP in Windows XP. I'm looking for a help desk job dealing with Networking more then desktop support. But I am willing to start low and move into any position. As far as houses go, where ever I find a job is where my home will be :).

Thanks again!

I'm not too familiar with the help desk positions, so I don't think I'd be any help there. But I know that jobs like that are available all around the Phoenix area.. so it doesn't really nail down a housing situation.

But yes, if you are commuting to and from work everyday, it is a good idea to live somewhat near where you work.. otherwise the commute could potentially be very long.

Does anyone have any advice for us? Moving from Maryland to Arizona
Arizona(air-i'-ZON-u')

The State of Arizona comprises the extreme south-western portion of the United States. It is bounded on the north by Utah, on the east by New Mexico, on the south by Mexico, and on the west by California and Nevada.

we want to find jobs first but employers don't seem interested in hiring people that don't live in the area yet. Any suggestions????

Nick -
My wife and I are planning on moving from Minnesota to Phoenix in October due to my wifes job. I have yet to find work in the area. I noticed that you may be looking for someone with some computer background. What type of experience are you looking for? My background is with SUN, IBM Pseries, and Xseries Systems. I currently hold a position in St. Paul Minnesota as a Systems Engineer on all of the previously stated platforms. I would like to talk to you more if these skills will fill your needs. I would also be interested in any advice you may have in finding work down there.

gozz,

You may want to check with a company called Micro Symplex. The owner is a friend of mine, and they've been in business here in the valley for over 16 years. I don't know for sure that they're hiring, but I'd giving it a shot.
