Hi-- I hope someone can help me with information...my husband and I are considering relocating from MD to Arizona
Arizona(air-i'-ZON-u')

The State of Arizona comprises the extreme south-western portion of the United States. It is bounded on the north by Utah, on the east by New Mexico, on the south by Mexico, and on the west by California and Nevada.

. I'm a recent college grad...the problem is it's a history degree and from everything I've read, the Phoenix area is heavily tech oriented. Does anyone know of any kind of job opportunites for people like me? What is the average entry level position for college grads? I'm sick of the muggy summers here (just outside of Baltimore - I'm originally from CA) and the prices of even moderate houses here is depressing.
Thanks for any information!

What kinds of occupations do people with history degrees normally have?

Thank you!

I honestly don't know....lots of history majors go in to teaching, on to law school, in to gov't service, etc. My writing/research skills are pretty good...writing multiple papers each semester will do that to you. I'm a little older than your average college grad...I was one of those returning students, so I also have some work experience. I'm open to just about anything and actually like technology. I just don't have a degree in it. My husband has some limited graphic design skills but again, no degree in it. I'm just curious about the job market, in the Phoenix area particularly.

Getting a job in the Phoenix area is easy. There are sites that provide local listings of available jobs.. you can head over to Google and do a search on "phoenix job search" and get quite a comprehensive list of sites with job postings.

Technology is popular, but certainly not everyone that lives here is into technology. Construction, for instance, is doing well because of the massive boom in people moving here and the speed at which they need to build new houses and apartment complexes.

I don't know what kind of career you're looking for, so it's hard for me to say anything else helpful :-).
