at the time ordered a raid on the town to try and clean up. The media
came in and aired some of what was going on. Most of what was aired were
sob stories of children in the streets crying after being seperated from
their families, etc.
This caused a lot of bad publicity for
the state government at the time. I believe it's the fear of this same
bad publicity repeating itself that has prevented anyone else in government
from acting.
I don't have a problem with people practicing polygamy.
What 2, 3, 4, etc *consenting adults* want to do with their personal lives
is their own business. It's when they force people into it, and when children
and abuse are involved, that I (and probably many others) have a problem.
