drowssap,

Regarding the price of the house.. that's about a low to average price at the moment (real estate is increasing quickly).

It sounds like you're describing the Prescott area. it's about 2 hours northwest of Phoenix, and probably about 4 hours from Las Vegas. The temperatures are 80s to 90s in the summer, and there is some snowfall in the winter. Sometimes heavy, but not often.

Yes, housing prices have went up 47% last year. To find a house under 200,000 is very difficult, almost impossible if you want to live in a nice area....(I'm a realtor)

By the way, the northwest valley is quite beautiful and growing, but many high tech jobs are in the east valley (think Motorola, Intel etc) with Honeywell in the Northwest.

Hi everyone!
My thoughts on where to live when you move to AZ and especially the Phoenix area, is, where will you be driving to the most? We have beautiful communities in every area and direction. One of the hottest on the market right now is the South Mountain
South Mountain(so'wth MAWN-ti'n)

Serving as the "exclamation point" of pride, South Mountain is the largest municipal park in the world. The 16,500-acre park is home to more than 300 species of plant life and a variety of fauna, including rabbits, foxes, coyotes, snakes, lizards and birds.

area. It will be the next area where people will be able to make huge amounts of money on any home they buy there as Del Webb is going to do another planned community there. The South Mountain

Park is the largest urban park park in the country and will offer wonderful hiking and wildlife viewing. The traffic is terrible to deal with so the best advice I can give is to get close to where you work. One great thing is everywhere you go its air conditioned in the summer. One bad thing is the inside of your car becomes a furnace if left in the sun. You will not want to jump right in and start your car because you will burn your rear end and lose all your finger prints touching any metal! Never, ever leave a child in the car. It can be deadly real quick, One other thing is lock your car doors. We are the car theft capital also. I've lived in Phoenix for 40 years and have never had one stolen but it is a problem. I love it here and yes the summers are horridly hot, but once you've lived here its really hard to go back. I don't know how people shovel and drive in snow.
