Snowcapped Photography: Day 2

by Nick Coons
Jan 28, 2004

<< Part 1

Try, try, try again, to get the picture that I want. After the cloud-cover of last week cleared away from Four Peaks, snowcapped mountain-tops were visible once again. And with two hours of free time, I was more prepared. This time, equipped with my still camera, video camera, binoculars, and two tripods, I decided to have some fun.

This time, heading up there alone, I was able to look for a better picture-taking spot. I drove for a few miles up the dirt road towards the peaks, and found a nice, clear, slightly-elevated area perfect for setting up a few tripods. And while I still wish that I could zoom with my still camera, I think I did well with the equipment that I had.

The binoculars gave me an interesting view, and yes, I did try to take pictures through the binoculars just for fun, but that didn't work too well. I took pictures until my batteries ran out. Then sat and relaxed for about five minutes, simply enjoying the fact that there was no sound. The weather was cool, and I could have stayed there all day. And every few moments, I observed a small animal scurrying around from bush to bush.

As you'll be able to tell, the Four Peaks Wilderness Photos journey was not a loss at all. Check out this link to view the photos that came of this little trip.
