Wow! You have to see this charming, little place! It truly is a step back ion time! The food was great! The ice cream soda was to die for! The Chef's salad was beautiful! Talk about presentation! The waitress was a doll! I can't believe this place has been here forever, well, at least 70 some years and I just discovered it!

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Phoenix! I drive down from Sedona at least once a week to eat at MacAlpine’s. It is a great place to eat before the ball games downtown. The black bean burger is delicious. It is homemade and you sure can tell. MacAlpine's potato salad is the best I’ve ever had. The chocolate cake is to die for. I love it served with the mint chocolate chip ice cream. The waitresses are fantastic. You can tell they love there job! There are so many things that make this restaurant exceptional: the food, the service but most of all would be the atmosphere. It is like you stepped out of a time machine into 1928. MacAlpine’s was a Rexall pharmacy until fairly recently and has been there for almost 80 years. I keep on telling the owners that some famous Hollywood producer is going to walk in someday and use the place for a movie or sitcom. It is that special! Next door there is an antique and retro store. I have found some really cool furniture and great gifts for my house there. Take the time to go to MacAlpine’s. It is worth the trip!
